I have a program for quitting smoking that is done in only one session. A client had quit and wanted to add the hypnosis to help insure his success. I said great! Before his appointment I brushed up on the procedure because I hadn't been through it in a while.
One thing has to be determined before you even start, and that is what is the reason someone is quitting? If it's because a doctor or wife wants you to, or you're worried about health matters, have developed a cough etc. You're wasting your time and money. When you can honestly say to "cigarettes", that you are fed up with them, don't want them in your life anymore, find them disgusting and repulsive and don't like the control they have over you, then you're ready to quit and will have success with hypnosis.
Your motivation must be strong.
My own motivation was 1. I didn't want to be addicted to anything, and 2. I didn't want to pay the $$. This was when I was young and hadn't really had the habit for long.
The session went very well. If this person is successful in quitting partly or wholly because of our session, then my whole study of hypnosis will be worth it. This was my son.
The fact is though, he has to quit, I can't do it for him. That's the way it is for every change. If you think you're going to go to the hypnotist and he/she will cause you to lose weight or lose your fear of heights or have more confidence in speaking etc. It won't happen unless you're strongly motivated, believe it will happen and will accept the suggestions. Then it will happen very easily, almost miraculously.
It's up to you. Don't you wish you could just take a pill or a shot? Remember the side effects.
Everything you want, need or dream of is within you. Remember the great hypnotist Oz gave the Tin man a heart, the Lion courage and the Scarecrow a brain.
